Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten program prepares your child to transition to the school years. Reading and writing, math, science and social skills are taught in a logical, natural sequence that encourages children to learn step by step.

Monthly themes, weekly topics and daily activities keep the curriculum focused and fun. We complement this learning experience by bringing a Music Teacher, Yoga teacher, art teacher and a Sign Language Teacher on a weekly basis. Our goal is to have a balance between the pre-school years and the structure of the coming years.

Foundations

  • Nurturing and Learning Balance.
  • Monthly Themes with weekly focuses support each project.
  • Children gain confidence, self-esteem and a love of learning.
  • Hands on activities teach basic math and science concepts.
  • Encourage curiosity, self direction and persistence.
  • Reading readiness programs introduce the alphabet using letterforms, sounds and words.

Environment

  • Science - Children explore basic science concepts such as weight, volume and fluidity using materials and experiments
  • Creative Arts - Children are encouraged to express themselves imaginatively.
  • Dramatic Play/Home Living - By acting out the events of their daily lives or their imaginations, children develop language and social skills
  • Blocks - Important concepts such a proportion, balance, size, shape and patterns come to life with classic wooden blocks
  • Manipulative/Math - From sorting, grouping counting to more advance math skills, children lay a strong conceptual foundation through hands-on learning
  • Language/Library - A quiet place to read or look at picture books encourage language skills for beginning and advance readers
  • Computers - Educational software gives children another fun way to strengthen reading and math skills as they learn computer basics
  • Circle Time - Gathering together for stories, songs, music, dance and other learning activities fosters listening, creativity and social development
  • Outdoor Play - Learning continues outdoors with nature study and physical and gross motor development.
